Change of Circumstances (Funding Update)
I am writing to advise that unfortunately MDS have been informed that beyond June 30th 2023 PHN are unable to continue to fund the program. Over the previous 4 years the partnership with PHN has achieved many great outcomes for students of the college however it has been recognised that more diverse and ongoing funding is needed for this service to continue.
MDS, with the support of PHN and other local providers, is currently actively seeking alternative funding sources and have reached out to local State and Federal members of parliament. We are hopeful that the valued work of the program will be able to continue beyond June 30th 2023 however this is currently unknown.
To allow SWS Recovery College to finalise the program under the current funding:
- Our Autumn timetable will finish 15th June 2023.
- SWS Recovery College will provide students with opportunities to request resources (e.g. workbooks and fact sheets) before 15th June 2023 – stay tuned for more information.
- SWS Recovery College will send ‘info share’ emails before 15th June 2023 with information on how to access other mental health services and online self-help options.
- Certificates of Attendance are always emailed after each course and workshop however if you would like us to resend any for your records, please contact us before 15th June 2023. After this date, students will need to contact the MDS head office directly on 4621 8400. Access to these records will be available up to 30th June 2024.
MDS wishes to thank you for the ongoing support for the SWS Recovery College over the last 4 years and we are very humbled to have supported so many of you with recovery-oriented education. We will keep you informed of any developments that occur regarding securing alternative sources of funding.
